Carefree – 2009
Everyone always warns us to be careful, be cautious, take care. I challenge that. I do not want to live a careful life. I want to throw caution to the wind and dive into the deep end. I want to inhale life and choke on it every once in a while so that I appreciate the times when I breathe freely. Don’t be careful, be ridiculous and outrageous and vibrantly wonderfully alive. Instead of taking care, take risks. Be wild and crazy and foolish and real and honour that powerful person living just beneath your skin. Show the world your beauty and it will show you its beauty in return. Not the beauty of your skin or your hair but the beauty of your being. We are beautiful in our tears, in our fear and our anger, our pain and our bliss, our faith and our despair, our love and our hope. We are beautiful when we are really and truly all of who we are. What a fabulous dance it will be if you dare to let your hair down and do the chicken dance, the fox trot, the cha cha and don’t forget the salsa. Open yourself up! Take risks. Draw tears. Cry blood. Make Mistakes. Laugh at yourself. Fall in love with your life. Live louder and larger and longer than your thought possible. Stretch yourself. Lose. Fail. Win. Play. Grow. Dream. Laugh. Eat. And do it all over again. Live it all. Eat it up. Feast. Sing. Create. Be exactly who you want to be and not who someone else expects you to be. Be brilliant. Be preposterous. Be unthinkable. Dance out of rhythm. Sing out of tune. Fart out loud. Laugh from your belly. Hard. Often. Laugh until you cry. Cry until you laugh. Love with realness. Live at the centre of your life. Live your fears. Live your hopes. And every moment in between. Trust. Grow. Dream big. You can become it. Honour every single part of yourself, even the dark places. Shine your brilliance. Anything is possible. Everything is possible. Don’t be careful. Be carefree. Be silly. Be outrageous. Be courageous. Be real. Be-lieve. Live a life that you love. Become a person that you love. Live loud and real and hard and happy. And most of all – Laugh!
